We encourage you to start playing by learning the right way.
What's the right way?
Good question!
We strongly recommend that you register for an introductory class. We offer regularly scheduled beginner classes with PPR certified instructors in small groups. It is a great way to learn and meet others starting their pickleball adventure.
If you prefer a private introductory lesson, don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
101 Beginner Clinic - Introduction to Pickleball Basics. What is it?
This is a group class aimed at those with little to no experience of pickleball and who want to learn the basics and then apply that new knowledge in actual gameplay.Students will be able to learn the basics about the court, court safety, rules, serving & receiving, scoring, court position, court etiquette, and, of course, playing a game.
This class is an ideal introduction to the game of pickleball. Not only will you learn the nuts and bolts of the game and have a chance to play, you will also get to meet other people like you who are curious to explore this great game. We're confident that once you play, you'll be hooked and be coming back for more. Exercise never felt this good!
Before registering for this class, you must create an account with us. Create an account (bronze membership)
Once you have an account, you can review the schedule for these beginner classes and choose the date and time that works for you. View class schedule
All participants must register individually; registrants may not bring guests to these classes.Be comfortable and wear clothing that allows you to move freely. Our indoor facility is climate controlled, but we suggest that you bring layers.
Footwear is important and we recommend but do not require, court shoes. These provide the right foot support for the movements you are likely to make while playing.
We also recommend some form of eye protection. This could be shatter-resistant eyeglasses, safety glasses, or even empty frames. This is a recommendation, not a requirement.
Do I need to bring anything else with me?
- If you have your own paddle, great - bring it with you. Otherwise, don't worry; we have a range of demo paddles to try while you're with us.
- Pickleballs will also be provided. (Note: for non-instructional events and court rentals, you must bring your own balls).
- Bring water; staying hydrated is important.
- Pack an extra bottle, particularly during the warmer months. If you insist on bringing single-use plastic beverage containers, please take them away with you and dispose of them thoughtfully.
- Bring a smile. If you don't have one, no problem - we'll provide you with one shortly after you start playing!
That depends upon how close you are to the scheduled start time of the class and what type of change you would like to make. We generally require 24 hours notice for cancellation. How do I withdraw from an event for which I'm registered?
More information on cancellations, withdrawals & refunds
We generally aim to have at least three students per class. However, at the instructor's discretion, the class may proceed with less. If your chosen class is canceled due to an insufficient student number, your account will be credited with the registration fee and you may register for an alternative date to suit your schedule.
All those participating in lessons and clinics must be a minimum of 16 years old.
