How do event waitlists work?

What is an event waitlist?
When an event is "full" (i.e., all the available spots have been taken), you may have the option to join a waitlist for that event. CourtReserve can record your interest in joining the event that is full and then notify you via email, push notification and/or text message if/when spots become available. Note that the term "event" is used to refer to any activity, for which registration is required, other than court rentals.
How do I join an event waitlist?
When an event is full, the "Register" button will no longer be available and a "Waitlist" button will be shown instead; select this button to begin the process of joining the waitlist.
The "Waitlist Count" indicates the number of other people currently on the waitlist for that event.
Is there a fee to join an event waitlist?
No. For events with a registration fee, you will only be charged that fee at the time of event registration; not for joining the waitlist.
If I’m waitlisted for an event and a spot becomes available, am I automatically in?
No. If a spot becomes available for an event with a waitlist, we attempt to notify all those on that waitlist. Waitlistees may then register for the event in the usual way on a first-come, first-served basis; you do not need to remove yourself from the waitlist first. If your registration for the event is successful, you will be removed from the waitlist for that event automatically.
Note that spots that became available may already have been filled by the time you attempt to register.
Receiving notification that spots are available is not a guarantee of a place in the event. Indeed, you never have a place in an event until you register, receive notification that you have successfully done so and, where appropriate, receive a receipt for payment in full .
If an event is shown as full, may I just turn up at the event and then register?
No. Please do not turn up for events that are shown as full unless you have confirmation of successful event registration. Events that are full are shown as such for a reason!
